Our Rivers' Fury: Past and Present Ohio Valley Floods

A fascinating presentation by noted historian Rick Bell, author of The Great Flood of 1937 - Rising Waters, Soaring Spirits opens the exhibit. Mr. Bell's work was the first book-length study of this major natural disaster since 1937. Looking at images and community reaction, he paints a vivd picture of the harrowing days in the winter of 1937 when the Ohio River flooded along its entire length and reached its highest level ever in Greater Cincinnati, officially recorded as 79.9 feet.
